World Ocean Day 2008 June 8th 2008 marks the thirteenth annual World Ocean Day. Begun in 1992 by The Ocean Project and the World Ocean network, it is an opportunity to celebrate marine life, seafood and other products of the ocean. The day also serves to raise awareness of the crucial role that the oceans play in all of our lives and to provide information on how we can all get involved in marine conservation and education.
